The
'98 season started out with the 'Canes winning
big over East Tennessee State. Miami blew big
games against VTU, FSU, and then a major blow
out against the Orangeman in Syracuse. The '98
team was lead by veteran quarterback Scott Covington.
Covington did have help though from future NFL
star tailback Edgerrin James. James rushed for
his second thousand-yard season in '98. The defense
was lead by future Butkis Award winning Linebacker
Dan Morgan, and NFL linebacker Nate Webster who
guarded the middle of the 'Cane Defense. |
