After
an almost perfect season in '86 the Hurricanes
came into the '87 season with the fire in their
eyes again. This time the 'Canes would be lead
by quarterback Steve Walsh. Michael Irvin, Brian
Blades, Danny Stubbs, George Mira Jr, and Bennie
Blades all returned to the Orange Bowl to help
guide Miami to another perfect season. This time
the 'Canes would not let the Championship slip
away. Miami won a close one over the Oklahoma
Sooners in their own back yard (Orange Bowl) for
their second National Championship. |
